Abby- Nicole Jacklin School of Dance
Hi Everyone! I hope you celebrated the holidays with your family like I did.  I received lots of dancewear for Christmas (you can never have enough of that!) and a cool nail polish kit.  When I found out my school had a PA day on December 20th I was so excited because I would have 16 days of vacation. One thing my class has been assigned at school is to do a speech. As I mentioned in my November post, I also have a passion project on my passion dance that is due in early 2014.  My passion project is progressing well.  But for now we have no tests, no homework and lots of Christmas parties to attend! We can stay up late and sleep in.  My Christmas vacation has been going ok, except that I’ve been sick with a terrible cold for over a week.  Oh well, at least I’m not sick while dance season is on. This month at the studio we had lots of fun because we made up Christmas dances to celebrate the season.  I am looking forward to the New Year and have some great dance news to share.  I can do my side aerial on the ground now! As well, the NJSD is having a sleep over for the junior and senior competition team! I am hoping I won’t still be sick when the sleep over takes place because I know it will be a lot of fun.  I tested the BLOCH sweater and I will be doing a review of this product in January.  Stay tuned.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a safe and Happy New Year!

Blaire- Irish Dance Studio
December has been a relatively calm month.  Dancers are now on a break that began on December 21st and will continue until January 6th.  Dancers in the Irish division have been learning new dances for the upcoming season beginning in January.  Dancers in the stage division have been working tirelessly to complete their competitive routines.  Our studio also held its annual Christmas party which was filled with fun and was very entertaining.  December was a great end to a successful year for the studio and January promises to be an exciting start.

Caitlyn- A2Y Dance Inc
Since my last blog there has been a lot of fun things that have happened at our studio. It all started when A2Y found out we were going to be in the Aurora Santa Clause Night Parade at the end of November. We all met  at a warehouse to decorate our studios float. We put everything on it,  from Christmas trees to presents to ornaments and lots of lights. After we were finished decorating our amazing float Aly, Yossi and Betty treated us all to a pizza party. We had so much FUN! Not sure if any of you remember the night of the Aurora parade, it was the first day of the major snow storm of the season!  We were all determined to dance and bring Christmas cheer regardless of the weather and mother nature. Nothing could bring down our sprits, everyone did an amazing job and we had a lot of fun. We had so much sprit that we were noticed and featured on the GLOBAL TV news cast the following evening! I just wanted to wish everyone from my studio and all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Competition season is around the corner and I can't wait!

Carmen- Allegro Dance Academy
I miss dance so much! We had a three week break this year and I don’t know what to do with myself on dance nights. I usually end up dancing in my basement. I have been running through choreography, practicing new tricks and working on different types of pirouettes. But as much as I miss dance it is great to also have a break and spend time with friends and family. I had a great Christmas and I hope everyone else did too. Happy New Year and I wish everyone a great dance season in 2014!

Katie- Northern Lights Dance
Hi, it's Katie checking in and wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I have been spending my holidays skiing, snowboarding and enjoying the best Christmas snow in years! I will be excited to get back to dance next week - we're heading into the homestretch of our dance year and competitions will be here before we know it. The next few months are all about prepare, practice, perform. Can't wait!!!

Larysa- iDance Studio
December has been a fun and exciting month at iDance. Costumes for our competitive groups have started to come in, and all of the competitive costumes should be in by January. Another exciting thing is that for Christmas iDance has an annual staff dinner. Every year iDance invites all the teachers, assistant teachers, and office helpers to a dinner at the Pickle Barrel. It is a really fun night, where we do secret Santa and enjoy a nice meal. This year was iDance’s 4th annual Christmas party. I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas, and I am looking forward to getting back to dance in the New Year!

Megan- AM Dance Force
AM Dance Force has been very spirited this holiday season by doing the Santa Clause parade back in November and doing our annual studio sleepover and Secret Santa.  We can't wait for all of our routines to be completed and for the competitions to start up this coming season!

Rebecca- York Dance Academy
Happy Holidays Everyone! December has been a quiet month but at the same time a very hectic month for me. YDA finished up classes a week early with an open house for all the parents to watch what the students do in their classes. Christmas came upon us very quickly and now I am preparing for a show in Stouffville. On the 29th, I will be participating in the production of A Christmas Carol by Motus O! Otherwise, not much has happened and I’m not sure what will be happening in the new year but, I am personally looking forward to what 2014 will bring us!
Have a great New Year Everyone!

Sarah- Borden Dance
December has been quite the good month in dance. We finished our lyrical dance, one of seven routines we have. So now our dance teacher and our helper in lyrical are going to split us up into two groups and do a dance for each group. I'm excited because I was the first in our class to know this before the break! I already know the song, and it's going to be a challenge to dance to, but I love challenges. Something big that happened in December so far was our open house. I ended up doing two of them (one for helping, lyrical, pointe, jazz and tap, and then one for hip hop). I also managed to keep the younger ones in order during open house (some of them were a handful, but overall, it went well), which was basically a pound of bricks lifted off of my shoulders! Performing in front of an audience on pointe wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, in fact, I almost forgot a part of the dance, but I remembered it as soon as the music came on, which was a relief!

Taura- Studio 48
Hi  guys, Taura here. It's been crazy crazy crazy down here in Beaverton with the ice storm which was very scary. I'm very thankful that my family is all safe. For christmas I got a whole bunch of stuff like a new lap top, new jazz shoes and toe thongs. I got new tights and a new dance bag to, which was good as I was in desperate need of them. I can't believe that dance is almost half way over. Our recital is in May and that's only 5 months away, crazy right?! I was excited to see my brothers and sisters, we got to go skate on the river and they got me more dance clothes for Christmas.
