Abby: Nicole Jacklin
Hi everyone, it’s me Abby and I’m back with my March blog post. Our first competition of the season was in March and we had to practice, practice, practice, and finish tailoring the rest of our costumes to get ready.  I would like to say thanks to Christina’s Grandma who did the last minute touches on my solo costume.  She did a great job! With competition comes dress rehearsal. At our dress rehearsal this year we had lots of great dancers and they entertained our family and friends. It was a great day. The last weekend of March our competition team attended the Inspire Dance Competition in Barrie.   Everyone at the competition was so nice and I made some new friends.  Next weekend, our studio will be attending the luv2dance competition in Niagara Falls.  And the following week I will be doing my very first ballet exam in intermediate foundation.  See you next month. Happy Easter.

Blaire: Irish Dance Studio
March has been a very exciting time for the studio.  Our stage division dancers competed in their first two competitions of the year and had very successful showings in both.  This season promises to be very exciting for all of the dancers as routines are looking great and everyone is off to a very strong start.  Our world qualifiers are also hard at work as there are only a few weeks before the World Irish Dance Championships in London, England in mid-April.  Along with this, these dancer also performed in our studio's production of Celtic Heart on March 22, which was a night filled with dance and music.  March was a very busy time for all dancers and April promises to be filled with many great opportunities.

Caitlyn: A2Y
It's been an exciting few weeks for us all at A2Y! We had our showcase on March 17 the which everyone did such an amazing job!  The costumes were out of this world! I can't decide which one I love more.  We have our first Dance Competition this weekend. I can hardly wait to see how amazing we will do! I just want to wish all of my fellow A2Yers and other competitors the best of luck. It's going to be the best year ever!

Carmen: Allegro Dance Academy
This dance season is off to a great start! We have already been to two of our competitions and we are getting ready for our third. Our most recent competition was in Blue Mountain at a competition called Move. It was our first time going to that competition and we had a blast. Another reason we loved that competition was the fact that it was run by Shawn Desman! We are also attending a new competition very soon called Attitude. We don’t know what will happen but we are very excited and will hope to do well. What ever happens we have had a great season so far and hope to keep it that way.

Katie: Northern Lights
Hi, it's Katie! I can't say enough about how exciting the past two weekends have been. This is the time of year when we finally get to compete for our Studio and I'm loving every minute of it! The weeks fly by rehearsing and the weekends are the best. It takes a lot of time management to balance dance and school at this time of the year but it is totally worth it and I can't wait to get back on stage next weekend!. Best of luck to all of the dancers at their competitions.

Larysa: iDance
Hi everybody, it’s Larysa. March went by so fast, and I can’t believe iDance has its second competition in less than a week! Next weekend we are going to Niagara Falls for a four day competition at Luv 2 Dance, and I am so excited. At our first competition in Orillia iDance did extremely well, bringing home over 25 overall awards, 15 special awards, and a bunch of amazing memories. I hope we can continue to do this well at the remainder of our competitions, and continue to have a great time doing it! I hope everyone is having an amazing start to their competition season.

Megan: AM Dance Force
AM Dance Force is very excited as we are competing this weekend (March 28-29) for our first competition of the season at the Newmarket Dance Festival.  We are really happy to be there to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the competition and can't wait to perform all of our fantastic dances.  Now that we are ready to go, we are anxious to get started with the season and get into the competitive mode.  We look forward to all of our other competitions and a great season!

Rebecca: York Dance Academy
Hi there everyone! The season seems to be just zooming by but with lots of up and coming things YDA and myself have been keeping very busy. During the weekend of June 15th and 16th YDA will be hosting a workshop with dancers from The Next Step, a popular dance TV show. Students have the choice of Hip-Hop with Trevor and/or Contemporary with Brittany. Ages from 6 and up are welcome!! (You do not need to be a YDA student to attend the workshop). More information can be found on our website or just give one of our 3 locations a call. Registration can be found at this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1NkZHqLFJy8ByYiswsb1Yo47rNzEYRHhDcLI0GBS-wwo/viewform or just call or drop into one of our locations and fill out a registration form. First 30 dancers registered will receive a free T-shirt!! YDA has also began registration for our spring 7 week mini sessions varying in multiple disciplines. We have also opened up registration for our summer camps and nightly classes. As far as me, I’ve been busy choreographing with one of my good friends for our year end show at school. Every year, at the May show, they open up the door for students to choreograph their own numbers. I’m very excited to audition our piece. We’ve decided to do a tap/contemporary mix which I think will be fun and we will be dancing to Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons; a lovely piece of music. UHS’s year end dance show will be coming up during the week of May 13th. Other then that, not much else is new. Life is very hectic as YDA prepares for their first competition this weekend in Vaughan. And as for me… well, the most exciting thing that happened in March was my march break trip to France which was so amazing! If anyone ever has the chance to go its beautiful. Such a great experience, I would go back in a heart beat. Well, I wish you all the best of luck in your up and coming competitions! See you next month.

Sarah: Borden Dance
Since the month of March has started, we have been all about costumes and fittings! For the past couple weeks, we have been measured and fitted for costumes, and luckily, the majority of them are finished! Over March break my friends from dance and I had been asked to go over to my dance instructor's house to go help with costumes. Some of the things we did were cutting out material, bagging together costume pieces, and even making suggestions for different costumes. We got tons of work done, and it was pretty fun to do too. We even got to see some of the costumes we haven't gotten fitted for yet, which was amazing (and they are all so gorgeous!). I was also really happy that our second lyrical instructor, Anya, came back after a few weeks off! Also this month I turned 13! I don't feel much older, but that may change over time. In the ways of school, everything has been it's normal busy self, cramming my schedule full of work, so hopefully this month I can stay even more focused in school as well as in dance!

Taura: Studio 48
Hey guys its crazy march is already over, I can't believe how much fun it was. From dancing in Granada to dancing in Florida I'm so happy to be home and I can't wait to get back to dance. This month we have been really just cleaning up our dances in jazz and acro. I pulled a muscle yesterday at dance it kinda sucks, I think the best thing to do is have hot baths with epson salts and get a massage. This month at dance I have been bringing a smoothie to drink before classes to boost my energy so I can work hard and achieve my goals. Well bye my beauties love you all.
