Abby: Nicole Jacklin School of Dance
Hi everyone, it’s me Abby and I’m back to write about my May blog post.  Many things have happened this month: our Huntsville competition the Breakthrough Dance Challenge, our recital pictures, continuity practice and finally recital weekend, and our last competition of the year in Collingwood for the Kick It Up competition.  I the Huntsville competition, our hip hop groups performed “this place about to blow” and won 3rd overall.  Also at the Huntsville competition, there was an improve challenge that I participated in. I thought it was a great experience to add to my repertoire.  The 15th annual recital for Nicole Jacklin School of Dance was held in King City and was very exciting.  In the day show I got to help out the pre-primary ballet class which was a great opportunity.  In the night show, we performed all of our recreation and competitive group numbers. The recital was so successful, all of our shows were sold out!  At our last competition in Collingwood at Kick It Up, I got to meet the cast of The Next Step and got all of their autographs!  Because the 2013/2014 dance season is over that means that my blog posts will come to an end.  It has been a great year that I will remember for a very long time.  This was the year I performed my first solo and had my first trio.  As well, Gabies Boutique gave me the opportunity to post my blog and try out some new products and give my opinion.  It has been a wonderful experience.  I hope you all enjoyed my 2013/2014 blog posts.  Until next time, keep calm and dance on!  Have a great summer.

Blaire: Irish Dance Studio
May has been filled with excitement as preparations are underway for our recital on June 15.  Costumes have been arriving and everyone is excited to see what they will be wearing.  Along with this, everyone has been working hard on their various dances, insuring that they are prepared for recital.  Our irish dancers have been attending local competitions as they prepare for the North American Irish Dance Championships in Montreal during the first week of July.  The excitement is pouring out of our dancers and next month promises to be filled with many exciting moments for all.

Caitlyn: A2Y Dance Inc.
It has been an amazing year at A2Y. We just finished our last couple of competition's in Niagara Falls and Brantford. We had an amazing time watching all of the wonderful dancers. The competitions we attended were Candance and Rhythm and we did amazing in both. I have had an amazing year at A2Y and I can't wait for another great experience next year. I would like to thank Gabie's Boutique for giving me this great opportunity as the studio ambassador for A2Y Dance Inc. and have enjoyed sharing my studio's progress and news with all of you each month.

This dance season has unfortunately come to an end, but it wasn’t without great success! We had our recital on the 23 and 24th of May. This year we had three shows instead of our usual two and they all went really well. I had five dances in each show and loved them all but this dance season came with a very emotional end. We have five of our senior girls leaving the studio this year and we are such a family that it’s hard to see family leave. There were quite a few tears shed at the last show and after each of their last dances. They were all so talented and we will be trained to fill their spots to the best of our abilities. To help build my skills, I will be attending my studio’s two summer camps. I am very excited for the guest choreographers that will be coming in to work with us! This was a great year and I can’t wait to start a new one!

Katie: Northern Lights
Hi, I hope you've had a great year and an exciting competitive season! I definitely have. Our recital was amazing and I love my Northern Lights dance family so much - it was sad to see the year end... But with June right around the corner I'm already starting to get excited about competitive tryouts and next year! I'm also taking summer dance classes in jazz and contemporary  - a great way to stay in shape and keep dancing throughout the summer

This year seems to have gone by so fast, yet it seems like such a long time ago when we started back in September. A few weeks ago iDance had it 5th annual recital. It was a crazy weekend, but we completed four amazing shows, and all of the dancers did an awesome job! The next major event we are looking forward to is the Luv 2 Dance Championships in Toronto. We had a total of twelve entries invited to the championships, and all of those dancers will be working extra hard to make their routines perfect. I hope that everyone had an amazing dance season and I am looking forward to next year!!! Bye everybody

Rebecca: York Dance Academy
Summer is coming upon us so quickly! Schools almost over, dance is coming to an end but I'm definitely loving the hot weather! May was such a busy but exciting month for me. I had my skating clubs annual ice show, UHS Dance Departments annual Dance Highlights show, and I was lucky enough to go with the dance department at UHS to New York City and take some amazing workshops and see so awesome shows! We took workshops at Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway and Alvin Ailey. We saw Jullards Annual Senior Showcase, The National Ballet and Kinky Boots. Talking about all the exciting things that happened in NY would take me too long so I’ll just share some of the highlights and a few recommendations. My most favourite thing that happened on the trip was going to see Jullards Annual Senior Showcase! The dancers at that school are truly extraordinary and the performance was unexplainable! Such a variety of styles but all were fantastic! My favourite workshop would have to have been Alvin Ailey! The teachers there are so amazing! It was truly a pleasure as well as an honour to be able to experience a workshop at Alvin Ailey! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is up for a challenge and a great experience! I wish I could go on forever about the amazing experience I had in NYC but I can only write so much! Have an awesome end to your comp seasons everyone! I wish you all the best of luck!!

Sarah: Borden Dance
Hello again! This post is going to be fairly short, because our studios actual recital is at the end of the month. So far, rehearsals are going quite smoothly. We had our dress rehearsals quite recently, and luckily, we didn't have to modify many costumes. There may have been some stitching here and there, but all in all, it was pretty good! Next, we have our stage rehearsals, which are coming up in a few days, which I am actually quite nervous for, because they had renovated the place where we hold our recitals, so it will be a bit difficult to get around. And the recitals are at the end of the month, which is very soon, and again, I am nervous, but I am excited, because it will be my first year on pointe in a performance. Well, I will tell you all how the performances went soon! See you all next month, and happy dancing!
