What Makes Ballroom & Latin Shoes Different From Dress Shoes?

Comfort

These shoes are made to dance in. Light as a feather all our shoes have a full shank that runs the length of the shoe while being flexible in the ball of the foot allowing the dancer's weight to be equally distributing on the foot which relieves pressure points and that burning aching feeling that makes you want to take off your shoes after only a few dances. In these shoes you'll be able to dance the night away with your shoes on!

Suede Soles

This is another small feature that goes a long way while your dancing. All Ballroom and Latin shoes will have suede soled bottoms. The suede allows you to have traction, especially through turns, while still allowing you to move smoothly across the floor. This is a much better feel than a leather bottomed shoe which may feel good at first but quickly becomes very slippery as the ridges wear off and make you feel like your sliding instead of gliding across the floor.

Cupped Heels

Look closely at any Ballroom or Latin shoe and you'll quickly see a similar pattern, they all have heel cups. This is done so that your foot is kept secure no matter what height of heel your wearing making sure there's no wiggling in through the ankle. This feature may not seem like much but when you have these shoes on not only will you feel secure you will also feel confident. While the suede soles allow traction without stopping you in your tracks.

Men's Shoes

The men's shoes offer the same features, suede soles for great traction, light weight to make you float across the floor, and a full shank to disperse the weight keeping you dancing all night long all packaged in the wonderful look of a dress shoe. For those with Orthodics we also offer an Orthopedic version.
