WHO: Dedicated, passionate, hard working, eagerness to learn, helpful, shows a willingness to
help others and an inspiring dancer. If any of these describe you then we hope you will apply for the
Shining Star Scholarship. The criteria is simpe, we are looking for dancers; of any age, any level,
male or female, that show one or more of the qualities above. If that's you and you'd like to win a
$200 Scholarship fill out and subit your application today.
WHAT: The $200 Scholarship amount can be put towards lessons, competition fee's/costumes,
recital costumes, dancewear, workshops, almost anything you as a dancer needs to keep
shining. Not only will our Shining Star Scholarship Recipient receive $200, they will also be
featured all year on our STARS wall in store, have a feature on our website, be featured in the Era
Banner, and receive a trophy at a special recognition ceremony July 7th, 2010.
WHY: Gabie's Boutique has been serving dancers for over 30 years and is excited to honor our
dancing stars year after year.We have always been involved in giving back to the dance community
and were looking for a way to directly impact our local dancers. We see so many dancers who are
truly passionate about dance at both a recreational and competitive level and thought it would be
great to offer a scholarship that any level of dancer can apply for and have an equal chance at
winning, an so our Shining Star Scholarship was born.
The Details and Fine Print
· The application deadline is June 30th 2010, all entries must be received in store or by mail
(18075 Leslie Street Unit 10 Newmarket L3Y 9A4) by this date to be eligible.
· Full time teachers and Studio Owners are not eligible, however student teachers dancing
on a part time basis may enter.
· Letter of recommendation must be submitted with application, be signed by recommendee, and include contact information. Approved “dance community members” are Studio Owners, Dance Teachers, Judges, Choreographers, and Dance Peers. Family members are not approved.
· The scholarship will not be paid out in cash. The winner may choose where they would like to allocate the money with either a cheque written to a studio, competition or workshop, or a gift certificate for apparel will be issued from Gabie’s Boutique.
The winner may do a combination of the above.
· All submitted application forms, letters, and pictures become the property of Gabie’s Boutique Inc. and may be used in store, online, in any promotional materials and in any media formats.
· Age, Sex, and Dance Level has no bearing on this scholarship, all entries will be judged fairly and without prejudice.
· The winner is required to attend the recognition ceremony on July 7th 2010 at Gabie’s Boutique
· Incomplete entry forms will be invalid
